We are so glad you are considering visiting us. Our prayer is that you will connect relationally and grow spiritually. Here are some things you can expect when you are with us…
FIRST TIME GUESTS
If you are a first-time guest, we would love for you to fill out our ‘connect card’. It will be attached to your worship guide you’ll be given once you arrive. Simply, take your connect card to our hospitality table. When you do, you will receive a free gift for visiting us. No one will call you or come by your house. We will simply send you a ‘thank you’ email and tell you what Velocity has to offer you and your family.
Where do we meet?
We meet at the Meyer’s Office Building next to CF Bank and the York County Animal Clinic. It may look like an office building on the outside, but we are a community on the inside. We rent three suites. The first is designated for our 80 seat auditorium. The second is designated for our nursery and pre-school. The third is designated for our vKids ministry. All three suites are located on the main floor of the building.
**Our facility is properly equipped for those with special needs (entry ramps and restrooms).
What is the worship experience like at Velocity?
Each service is between 75-90 minutes long. The service will include some great music, a message that is relevant to your day-to-day life, and 30-50 great people who look forward to getting to know you.
What do you believe?
Our goal is to equip you to grow spiritually, emotionally, financially, and relationally. Read more about what we believe and our statements on marriage and sexuality by clicking click here.
Where do my younger kids go?
Every Sunday there are several options for kids (birth through fifth grade). A nursery is available for newborns and toddlers. Also, there is a pre-school area for your 3-5 year old children. The K-5th grade students have an ministry designed for their needs called, vKidz. Your kids will be challenged to live for God and enjoy interactive games and challenges.
On the first Sunday of the every month, children will enjoy staying with their parents in the auditorium. This is a day set aside to focus on worshiping with the entire family and to celebrate communion together.
Where do my older kids (teens) go?
Students (6th through 12th grade) are part of our regular worship services on Sunday mornings. We encourage these students to serve in the nursery, pre-school, vKidz, or audio/visual. Students are welcome to participate in our student nights. Contact our youth leader, Justin Chetney, for upcoming events. His phone number is (540) 838-8638.
What should I wear?
We want you to feel as comfortable as possible, whether that means shorts, jeans and a t-shirt. As long as you are actually wearing clothes, you will fit right in.
Where do I park?
There is plenty of parking all around and clearly marked signs to show you where to enter.
Will I have to say anything, sign anything or be singled out in any way?
You will not be put on the spot, wear a name badge, have to sing, or expected to give in the offering. A ‘connect card’ will be available on your seat. We simply ask for you to fill out the connect card if you have questions, need prayer, and/or if you are interested in more information about Velocity. Following the worship service, Pastor Dean would love to meet with you and your family.
Are there refreshments available?
Absolutely. We have free refreshments (water, coffee, sweet snacks, and fresh fruit) available for everyone. Refreshments are available in the auditorium.
Are there restrooms available?
There are clean handicapped accessible men’s and women’s restrooms available. These restrooms are conveniently located near the main entrance. Feel free to use these facilities before, during, and after your visit.
